Clerk to Governors vacancy - St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary Schools

We are looking for an experienced Clerk to Governors to work across both primary schools. (Hours

of work are 2.75 per week for each school, 38 weeks per year)

The successful candidate will be able to remain impartial, maintain confidentiality and support the

local governing board in all matters of school governance, taking accurate minutes from the

meetings and provide all information required by the Plymouth CAST Board as requested through

the Trust

Termly commitment:

- 12 half termly Local Governing body meetings including planning meeting

The role is well suited to someone looking for flexible work around existing commitments or a part

time role, which offers training, an induction programme, as well as ongoing development.


We are looking for someone who:

- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Is self-motivated, exceptionally well organised.

- Flexible and a good team worker.

- Has a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

- Has experience of working in a school environment.

- Has initiative and willingness to contribute to the life of large primary schools.

- Is proficient in working in a confidential and unbiased environment

Salary Range: 3-6 (Grade C) £ £11.59 to £12.38 per hour

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes

appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

Midday Assistants
 
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School would like to recruit excellent Midday Assistants to join our wonderful and supportive midday team. 
The role of the Midday Assistant is a vital means of supporting children in enjoying their lunchtimes. 
The hours are Monday to Friday 12.00 p.m - 1:00 p.m or 12:20 p.m - 1:20 p.m  term time only, although there is a requirement to attend some INSET days for training. 
The hourly rate for this role starts at £11.59. 
Duties may include: 
1.Supervision of and providing first aid to the children on the playground. 
2.Preparing the lunch hall for each service. 
3. Attention to excellent hygiene practise.
4. Serving the off-site prepared school meals.
5. Assist in the dining area and encourage pupils to eat their chosen meal. 
6.To encourage good eating practices and assist by cutting-up of food for younger age groups. 
7. Clearing the dining areas and servery after each service.
 
 You will need to possess: 
• Experience of working with children.
• Ability to relate to children. 
• An understanding and acceptance of the school’s policies and guidelines 
• Have clear and appropriate communication skills 
• Ability to use initiative and work well as part of a team
• Ability to understand, and carry out instructions 
• Aptitude to be first aid trained if not already certificated
